Campus events from March 2012
With The Feather Online expanding its multimedia offers during the 2011-12 school year, two freshmen have taken on a new video program.
Christopher Grossman and Nick Fontes propose to bring to light campus events but with a twist. They want an excuse to present crazy ideas so that their peers will go online and stay there longer. This is the first installment of The Show.
The boys opened episode No. 2 by previewing powder puff: the girls play flag football while the boys provide the cheerleading. The March 23 event brings together all four classes to compete for the Eagle title. The current senior class has won the last two years and are favored to do so again.
Last week 23 of the publications students were in NYC to attend the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's 88th annual journalism convention. Grossman and Fontes share what the remaining 10 students did while most of the staff was attending seminars on the Columbia campus.
The Show: Episode 2 wraps up with a promotion for Sadies April 21. This year's theme is "Score one for Sadies" and girls, there is still time to ask boys to the event. The evening will include Blackbeard's Family Entertainment Center and bowling. Fontes interviews a sophomore and junior and asks them their opinion on the event and what the girl did to get a date.
Look for future shows which will include personal anecdotes, personality profiles, sports commentary, skits and comedy routines.
