Joined the Feather: 1995
Feather adviser Greg Stobbe hails from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. He graduated from Fresno Pacific University (FPU) in 1984 and worked as a mediator for five years before going into the computer business with a friend for two years.
But he missed working with teens, so Stobbe earned his teaching credential from FPU and has taught at FC for 20 years.
Along with his wife, Geena (who many call "Gorgeous" -- it's a personality thing), and three daughters, Brianna, Brittany and Brooke Stobbe, Stobbe remains committed to family and student relationships.
He jogs three times a week and enjoys inline skating; Stobbe occasionally plays roller hockey on Saturday mornings. Stobbe is an avid hockey fan and follows the Vancouver Canucks. He watches N.H.L. games on N.H.L. Center Ice. His other interests include creating gourmet meals with Geena and vacationing at the beach.
Stobbe teaches freshman English and has advised The Feather for 16 years. He is also a board member for the Journalism Education Association of Northern California (jeanc.org) and has often spoke at national conventions about online journalism.
Stobbe has lead 12 European Educational tours starting in 1996 and takes his publications students every other year to New York City for a national journalism convention to Columbia University and each year to the National Scholastic Press Association convention.
