Students and staff have the opportunity for a special chapel featuring Mike Penberthy, right, brother of FCS co-athletic director Jon Penberthy, Nov. 16.
Penberthy attended FC and played basketball for one year in 1990. He received multiple Division 1 college scholarship offers to play basketball but chose to play at The Master’s College. He is a 3 time All-American, and played over 10 years of professional basketball. He is also a member of the Los Angeles Lakers Championship Team in 2000-2001. Penberthy was the shooting coach for the Minnesota Timberwolves for the 2014-15 season, and is a now private shooting coach for NBA all-stars and olympians (Paul George, Dwyane Wade, Andre Iguodala, Rickey Rubio, Joakim Noah, Reggie Jackson and many more). Penberthy’s message was to protect your eye and ears because that is how temptation leads to sin.
