For third year in a row, FC will be having their annual stuffed animal drive, Dec. 15. Students are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to donate to Valley Children’s Hospital. All animals that are donated must be new; leadership will not accept used stuffed animals.
The hospital needs stuffed animals because they give a new one to each child who is recovering from surgery. Leadership enjoys providing this opportunity to the students to donate because it is a great cause and it is a good way to get into the mood of giving this Christmas season.
In return for bringing a stuffed animal, each student that participates will receive a free Panda Express lunch. Following lunch the high school will be watching the movie, A Christmas Story. Students are also encouraged to wear their pajamas for the movie. The special event will last from 11:45 to 1:30, and classes will resume after the movie.

While some students are not going to be bringing stuffed animals and receive a free lunch, many are excited for the other activities planned. Junior, Damien Boyce, is looking forward to spending time with his friends and watching the movie. He thinks it is a good idea because it gives all of the students a way to relax and take their mind off the stressfulness of finals.

“I am super excited to watch the movie and spend time with my friends,” Boyce said. “I won’t bring a stuffed animal because I don’t have time to go buy a new one but I like that I get to wear my pajamas and get a break in the middle of the day. It gives all of us a time to get our minds off of finals so we don’t have to be stressing out.”
FC leadership is very excited to be putting on this event. They expect a good amount of participation and hope to have enough stuffed animals to really help the hospital.
