Fresno Christian middle and high school students are led in worship by team members Trinity Cox, ‘23, and Riley Goldsborough, ‘21, for the first in-person chapel, Oct. 15. This year’s worship team has been leading the students in on-line, pre-recorded chapels since school started Sept. 8 due to COVID-19.
Filling the bottom floor of the Peoples church auditorium, socially distanced and masked, students were able to participate with the worship team for the first time. Normal chapels happened twice a week and were located in the SMC, allowing students to be up close in front as one large unit. For many, the distance was strange and did not feel like their usual chapel experience.
Superintendent Jeremy Brown shared about his personal fears and struggles in life and how he overcame them with help from The Lord. Viewing these struggles and many unknowns as an opportunity to grow stronger can be something we are thankful for and keep in perspective.
Chapels will continue to take place once a week on Thursdays and will include both worship and a speaker while guidelines remain.
