High school sports make their return

While competitive sports have been shut down since March 2020, some student athletes stayed in shape through all the quarentines. Fresno Christian cross country members have been running since July. Golf, tennis and cross country are all scheduled to compete this February.
School administration and Jon Penberthy, athletic director, reached out to parents and students to inform them certain sports are starting again. Parents must contact Penberthy if their child is interested in participating in cross country, girls tennis or boys tennis. Make sure to turn in a sports packet and an updated sports physical.
Cross country’s next meet is at Liberty Madera Ranchos at 4 p.m., Feb. 12. They run at home vs Immanuel at 3:30 p.m., Feb. 22.
Girls tennis and boys tennis next play at Immanuel at 3 p.m., Feb. 17. League matches have yet to be scheduled.
Co-ed golf, baseball and softball also begin soon. If you haven’t already signed up for any of these sports contact Brent Deffenbacher for golf, Noah Heinz for baseball and David Davila if you are interested in softball.
Other sports updates will be sent out when available. You can reach Penberthy via email.
