Kabab City boasts Mediterranean cuisine
[/media-credit] Kabab City Mediterranean Cuisine is located on the north east side of First and Nees.

Kabab City provides an excellent experience for its customers. Even with everything going on, they managed to open up a new location during quarantine and still received an exceptional amount of business.

They provide optional sitting areas, inside and outside. Plus take-out and delivery (Doordash). Their inside and outside dinning area is an extraordinary setup that would also be a great spot for a date night.

Kabab City gives off a uniquely modern and new-fashioned approach in style. The least busy time to eat there is between 2:00-4:00 in the afternoon throughout the week.

Looking around from where I was seated, I realized there were more couples than families. Watching them exchange laughs with each other gave off a sense of what it felt like before quarantine, as if nothing else was going on.

Furthermore, if you do not wish to eat in public, you can call in or Doordash an order. To-go orders seemed to be a big hit. Walking in there is a table that is at least 15 feet long filled with outgoing  food.

Looking out the windows watching the sunset was a great experience, as the lights started to shine in layering golden rays inside the restaurant.

Customer service was excellent. Waiting for one of them to greet us by the front desk, we watched the two waiters scurry around the room, attending to customers and showing their consistency to each person.

Our waiter was remarkably polite. She stopped at our table at the very least three times. We were exchanging conversations and she was asking how we were—even sharing stories of her own.

At first glance of our food, my appetite became even more substantial. The presentation was exceedingly appealing to the eye.

Seeing the chicken kabab drizzled with garlic sauce on top and observing the burnt charcoal edges on the chicken increased my appetite even more.

Sitting, hearing pans clacking and food sizzling along with the smell of spices diffusing across the room was intriguing.

As I grabbed the chicken with my fork, the meat began to fall, and steam flowed out. I never imagined chicken to be so tender.

Their spicy chicken is a must-try. It was cooked with onion, bell peppers, and roasted garlic, including varieties of hot spices. If you are not a spicy food person, then I would recommend this dish. Although it says spicy chicken, it was not a mouth-watering or nose running kind of spicy. Though not as spicy, the taste was still very flavorful.

Other  flavor the menu offers are Armenian, Greek, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern flavors.

When ordering, they ask if you want an extra side of rice or salad. I chose a salad, and I am not opposed to my decision. The salad included cucumbers, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and pita crisps. The Cucumbers give off a strong taste, so I would recommend taking them out if you are not a big fan.

Their chicken kabob slightly reminded me of the chicken kabob’s at Marat’s, but the garlic sauce is not as deep and rich as Marats. The prices vary, while Kabab City’s Chicken Kabob is $11 (lunch) and $14 (dinner). At Marat’s, their Chicken Kabob $13. Both include the choice of extra rice or salad.

The Beef Shawerma Skewer ($26) ranges from their most expensive dish to their least expensive Za’atar manaqeesh and pizza ($4).

Unfortunately, I reached out to the owner two times and never got a callback. Waiting for a call, I decided to go on my own without getting an interview with the owner.

Besides not being able to get a meeting, the staff was nice. I would recommend coming here if you are looking for somewhere new to go.

There are four Kabab city establishments. The establishment I visited is located on Fresno, First, and Nees (559-435-5044). They have another establishment settled close by in Fresno, Fig Garden. If interested, you can visit their website.

More information can also be found on their Instagram and Facebook accounts.
