Senior Lifer – Aidan Munoz

Senior+Lifer+-+Aidan+Munoz

The term ‘Lifer’ affectionately represents those students who have completed all 13 years of education at Fresno Christian Schools. This year’s graduating class will honor 11 students who all began their journey in 2010 as a kindergartener. Learn more about each ‘Lifer’ in this Feather series as we talk to the student and their parents.

Aidan Munoz:

What are some of the biggest changes you have seen at FCS since you’ve been here?

Some big changes that I saw was the shift from the smaller FCS campus, to every grade being at the Peoples campus. Another change I saw was when 6th grade became a part of junior high.

What teacher/s have made an impact on you?

Some teachers that made an impact on me are Mrs.[Denise] Tally, Mr.[Terry] Richards, Mrs.[Hallie] Rojeski, Mr.[Jacob] Cantu, Mrs.[Aubri] Foster, Mrs.[Hope] Villines, Coach G[Steve Guglielmana] and Coach Penberthy[Jonathan].

Which grades have been most memorable and why?

7th grade was my most memorable year because of how fun it was. From the classes to chapels to events, everything about it was awesome.

What is a favorite memory at FCS?

One of my favorite memories at FCS was getting crowd surfed at the last chapel of 7th grade.

If you could go back, what advice would you give your younger self?

I would tell my younger self to get even more involved then I already was and to build my friendships even earlier.

How would you describe the tools that FCS has given you to head into your next chapter?

I would describe them as very useful. I feel socially confident, reasonably smart, and logically capable of heading on to the future.

A note of gratitude.

I would like to thank my mom and dad for the huge investment of not just money, but of time and the life that they have given me. These past 13 years were pretty great and I wouldn’t have had them without my parents.

The average investment made by most parents who made the commitment to send their child to FCS for over 13 years is more than $104,000. What was the foundation behind this choice? We ask the parents of each ‘Lifer’ to tell us more about their journey and sacrifice for their child’s private education.

Parents:

Reasons for your investment into FCS for 13 years?

We started at Fresno Christian for the Christian values and education that are present in every aspect of the school. We stayed because the faculty, staff and families became our second family. Our sons were also able to participate in anything they wanted to.  They were welcomed and encouraged to try any activity.

What connections did you have to FCS before enrolling?

My aunt taught at Fresno Christian for several years. She told me of the great things that were going on and I wanted that for my kids.

What are you most grateful for about your child’s education?

I am grateful that my sons were really known as individuals in every class, in every activity. They did not always appreciate this because it makes it difficult to hide at school.  We thought it was an assurance that each student received the attention they needed.

Favorite memory of your student’s 13 years at FC?

I have a lot of favorite memories. I loved every activity in kindergarten. My eyes well with tears when I think about Mrs.[ Stacey]Ferguson and Mrs.[Amy] Witters. I loved the field trips to Hanford Superior Dairy on the train, the visits to the California missions, the choir trips and Christmas concert as well as the trip to New York with the choir. In the classroom, I love how each elementary teacher picks a character trait at the end of the year and talks about each child specifically. In junior high, I loved how Mr. Richards brought God’s love and plan for the world into the science classroom. I loved how Mrs. Rojeski made knowing and loving our country important and showed God’s providence in our history. In high school, I loved the tolerance that each teacher showed my sons. I loved the compliments that I was given and the gentle suggestions about behavior. This year, I am grateful that everyone has made to bring back all the activities from previous years and added more. This school is blessed by God and we have been blessed by it.

Aidan is thinking about attending UH Manoa, San Diego State University, Cal Poly or GCU.
