ESTERLYN CONCERT
The bands Esterlyn and A Current Affair will be holding a concert in Ground Zero Main, March 5 at 6 p.m. Admission is free so bring friends!
KIDS DAY
On March 6 from 5:30-8 a.m., The Feather staff and the Leadership Class will be selling papers on the corner of Cedar and Alluvial for Kids Day. All the proceeds will benefit Valley Children’s Hospital. Newspapers will be a $1.
NEW YORK TRIP
The Feather and Yearbook staff will be gone March 11-16 for the National Scholastic Press Association conference at Columbia University in New York. All week long, the group will be attending classes put on the conference and sightseeing the city.
NSPA AND CROWN FINALIST
The Feather Online has been recently announced as a National Scholastic Press Association finalist. Out of 159 entries, 31 were chosen as finalists. The winners for this Pacemaker award will be announced April 14 at the High School Journalism Convention in Seattle. Also, The Feather is a finalist for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Crown award. The winners will be announced March 16 at Columbia University. Both organizations utilized judging teams which included professionals and educators with extensive online media experience. They made their selections based on excellence in the following areas: content and coverage, site design, ease of navigation, interactivity/multimedia and writing and editing.
CSF TUTORING
Every Wed. at 3:05 p.m., the California Scholarship Federation club will be providing tutoring in Room 621. Help will be offered for free in all school subjects and all students are welcome to come.
SENIOR SHIRTS
Extra senior shirts are available in Room 608. They are in long sleeve and short-sleeve v-neck in various sizes. They will be sold for $10. After next week, sales will open up to non-seniors as well.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to our boys basketball coach, Josh Justin, for being named Coach of the Year for the West Sequoia League. Way to go Eagles!
