The boys cross country team huddles up and prays before competing in the race.
Fresno Christian’s Cross Country team competes in the Fleet Feet Summer Sizzle for pre-season race training, Aug. 9. This event has been the team’s season opener for the past few years. It gives runners time to build their endurance and condition themselves for the 2025-26 season.
The Summer Sizzle takes place at Woodward Park annually. The race is two miles, which allows runners from different divisions to compete against each other to see who is the fastest in the valley.
Blake Bay, ‘27, finishes first in the boys’ race and receives the Fleet Feet Summer Sizzle Champ Medal. Bay competed against 150 other runners in the varsity division. He has been on the cross-country team since the third grade and plans to continue running in college.
“The Summer Sizzle was awesome as it always is,” said Bay. “Both our boys and girls did outstanding in the race, which was awesome to be a part of! It was a great way to start the season!”
