Seniors Danielle Arndt and Benson Elbert took first place in the Royal Battle competition.
The 2025 Homecoming Royal Battle featured senior king and queen candidates lip-syncing and dancing to popular songs from around the world. Leadership advisor Tyler Gianakopulos hosted the show dressed up as Mr. Worldwide, with Activities Directors Jacob Christensen and Georgia Karlson as his flight crew.
Braden Belmont and Kennedy Schwab kicked off the show dancing to the beat of “Let’s Get Loud” by Jennifer Lopez.
Bryce Smith and Jordyn DeGroot showed their patriotic spirit, getting the entire crowd dancing to the beats of “YMCA”.
Tycen Ramirez and Delaney Meyers spun their way across the stage to the tune of “Perm” by Bruno Mars.
Christian Martinez and Vivian Cheema took the crowd back in time to 2010, dancing to “Baby” by Justin Bieber.
Benson Elbert and Danielle Arndt go unique, switching between four songs throughout their performance. Beginning with a lightsaber duel and a short dance to “Diva”, the two fought for center spotlight during “Teach Me How to Dougie”, ending their performance swing dancing to “Great Balls of Fire”.
After a brief intermission, the candidates joined together to take the crowd on a trip around the world, starting in the savannahs of Africa where the queens lifted Danielle up to “The Circle of Life”. The kings then traveled to Russia as they danced to “Rasputin”. Each couple then jumped across the stage during a short ballet performance to Strauss’ “The Blue Danube”. During “Birds of a Feather” from the movie Rio, the queen candidates strutted across the stage, and then the kings showed off their karate kicks during “Kung Fu Fighting”. During the finale, all of the candidates chanted “USA” by Filmore and Pitbull.
