Celebrate homecoming with us

Homecoming: a time for students, parents and alumni to come together and fellowship over the accomplishments of Fresno Christian. Tonight’s game will showcase the recent success of the football program and the work God is doing in our student body. It is time to celebrate!

However, the week did not start out so picturesque. Weather complications dampened our excitement for outside pageants. But we persevered and brought the messy activities and princess nominees indoors for grimy fun.

What we lacked in the usual grossness of princess pageant was made up for the next day when queen nominees battled over the title of the toughest queen. Students cheered on their favorite candidates while watching them wrangle greased pigs in the muddy north field.

In addition to the high intensity pageant, the student body will witness my favorite activity: a choreographed dance to the latest hits by the king nominees. With three king nominees who are also football players, students will see them on two stages.

Come support all of our players as they compete against the Riverdale Cowboys at Clark Intermediate, Oct. 16. You will be able to experience more than just a game. Arrive early for dinner and admire the hard work each class put into making their homecoming floats the best of this year.

Thanks in advance to all the students, parents and alumni who will make this night memorable for all.

Tatiana Fontes is the 2009-10 student body president.
