Update, Feb. 17: In their most recent show on Feb. 12, the winter guard placed 5th out of 5th. Although they did not place in the top three like they hoped, their score did raise by 17.6 points from their last show.
However, the FC team was not the only one to raise their score. The first place winners, Clovis High School, walked away with 69.5 points. 9.9 points above the campus team. Captain Jessica Massie, ’11, says she is very proud of the girls, despite coming in last.
“I know we did not do as well as everyone hoped,” Massie said. “However, we raised our score by 17 points. I hope the girls see how hard they worked and that everyone is so proud of all their hard work and the parents are hoping they keep improving.”
Second place went to Buchanan High’s JV guard with 67.6 points, only 1.9 points behind Clovis. Third place went to Saratoga JV who walked away with a total of 65.8 points while Hanford took fourth with 63.1 points.
