FC TAKES ON FRESNO HIGH, LOSES 24-68–Dec. 11
After losing to McFarland by a close score of 51-53, Dec. 8, the Eagles traveled to Fresno High School to take on the Warriors, Dec. 11. However, they feel short and lost the game 24-68.
The Eagles trailed most of the game and could not seem to find their touch offensively. Fresno, on the other hand, came out hard and fast, jumping on an early lead and never looking back.
Trevor Beal was the leading scorer for the team with 10 points.
Sophomore Cole Nale says that in order for the team to win more games, they need to improve in a few areas.
“We need to limit the turnovers,” Nale said. “I think we had 39 turnovers on Tuesday. We need to have our guards look up the court and go middle. We also need to drive middle and be more aggressive and get more rebounds.”
Head FC boys’ basketball coach and alumni of Fresno High, Robert Hubbard, says it was a disappointing game that could have gone a lot better.
“We could’ve done a lot better,” Hubbard said. “We seemed scared to play a team that was bigger than us, even though the team was not that good. We could’ve easily won the game, or at least kept it close. It was a disappointing loss that showed us what we need to work on as a team.”
The Eagles are now 2-4 overall and 0-0 in West Sequoia League. The Eagles next game will be on Thursday, Dec. 13 as they travel to Merced to take on Stone Ridge Christian.
