Its almost time for the annual FC food drive to commence. The food drive is a way to collect food for those who can’t afford it. This year, as is tradition, the food collected will go to Pinedale Elementary School. FC has a special connection with Pinedale, and has served them for 5 years now.
The food drive takes place towards the end of November and lasts all the way through December. The goal of the drive is to deliver as much food to those who are in need as possible. Robert Foshee is the leader of the food drive this year.
Foshee says the drive will undergo several key differences that will serve to better their previous efforts.
“This year the food drive is going to be different,” Foshee said. “We plan on collecting the food like usual and we are going to put together bigger ‘blessing baskets’ as well. Students can help by being generous! Bring as much food as they would like to have at their Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.”
Junior Sydney Belmont talks about how she helped with the food drive last year and how she plans to assist the process this year.
“Last year leadership had to help,” Belmont said. “One of the girls put on a event for the FC students and I had a really fun time. I plan on bringing fruits and other canned food this year.”
This year FC high school plans on making a huge difference in the lives of people who need it. Helping with the food drive is greatly appreciated. For more information contact Robert Foshee or Vicky Belmont.
