The fast pace, non stop sensation is finally back. The boys varsity basketball team has been preparing since the summer by competing in various tournaments. Since the start of school, the basketball team has been thinking about the upcoming season.
With the start of a new month, the team has a chance to prepare for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The varsity team will be competing in the Madera South Tournament, Dec. 2-5.
The Eagles will be playing four games in four days. They start off the tournament by playing McLane at 5 p.m, Dec. 2. They take on Madera High the next day at 3:30 p.m, Dec. 3. On Dec. 4, the Eagles match up against Chowchilla at 3:30 p.m. The game on Saturday is unknown. Who and when they play is determined by their success from the previous three days.
Confident that the Eagles will be successful, Damien Boyce, ’17, feels that the tournament will be a good way to start the season.
“I feel like we are going to win,” said Boyce. “We should have a fun time during the tournament. It’s going to be a good season opener. I am excited to see how we play, considering this will be our first couple of games.”
Roy Brown, ’17, believes that this upcoming season will be a good one. He expects a successful run during this tournament.
“I think that we have a good team,” Brown said. “I think that we can go all the way. We’re going to execute correctly, and I think we are going to be better than last year. This tournament should be good. We should be able to do well.”
The Eagles are hoping for a strong showing not only at this tournament, but also throughout the season. The tournament is held at Madera South High School and the entrance fee for the tournament is $5, so come out and support your Fresno Christian boys varsity basketball team!
