Teachers hold Star Wars Marathon
Star Wars fever, if you have not had it then you are not a true Star Wars fan. Never has the fever been higher than now just on the break of the Premiere of “The Force Awakens”. Contributing to this plague which has swept through the school; is the after school showing of all the last 3 preceding movies.
This showing was provided by Kyle Dodson, Jonathan Broersma, and Robert Hyatt. The movies were shown in building 5 room 502. As I walked down the hall of building 5 I looked at the numbers 509, 507 the numbers went down. I drew nearer and nearer to to room 502, I could hear the sounds of laser blasts and music.
I walked up to the door and opened it. As I peered inside, the room was dark and I scanned around looking for my friends. I walked around to the back and sat down next to them. When I sat down I noted with some surprise that the that the movie was being projected on the wall and not on a screen. In addition, to this there were two large speakers on either side of the wall.
I sat and watched the plot of unfold. I sat there, watching the movie; the atmosphere was pleasant and peaceful. It was nice to be able to sit and relax after school watch something with your peers. Though their was little talking you could feel the camaraderie.
The last movies leading up to the new movie the Force Awakens were episodes 4-6. In these movies chronicle the life of Luke Skywalker and his fight against the empire. When the episode six ends the Emperor and Darth Vader were dead. This left the viewers on a sort of cliffhanger. This contributes to the massive amount of excitement for this movie.
I thoroughly enjoyed this event and think that this was a great way to wrap up the semester.
