The California Classic is coming up on April 2nd and 3rd, rather than in March. Instead of taking place on separate weekends, like the two past year, the bike-the-freeway rides and half marathon run will be taking place on back-to-back days.
According the Fresno Bee the “Century, metric and mini-metric rides will be April 2, with the half marathon and Rock-n-Run 5K races April 3.” The bicycle ride will be along Highway 168, from the McKinley on-ramp to Shepherd Avenue.
The marathon starts at Chuckchansi Stadium, next, through downtown Fresno, the Tower District, then through the Fresno Chaffee Zoo and lastly back at Chuckchansi Stadium. For the cycle races there will be rest stops about 10-15 miles apart, the rest stops include portable toilets, plenty of water, energy drinks and food.
Multiple gold and silver medalist of the Pan American Games, Ivan Dominguez will be riding in this event and will also be running in the half marathon. Dominguez will also have clinics before the California Classic event, during the California Classic Expo on April 1 2016.
If you register before February 1 2016, the Century (100m) and Metric (60) is $70, the Mini (35) is $65. The Half Marathon is $70, the two person relay is $140 and 5K Rock-N-Run is $40. The prices will increase from five to ten dollars on March 14, 2016.

On April 1 2016 from 11 A.M. to 6 P.M. there will be expo and packet pick-up. If the packets are not sold out, late registration will be accepted at the packet pick-up event. This event will be located at Wilson’s Bicycles, 284 W. Shaw Ave. in Clovis.
If you would like to volunteer you can go out help, support and cheer on the hundreds of runners and cyclists cross the finish line. The Half-Marathon is “walker-friendly”, walkers are more than welcomed, even encouraged to come out and participate.
