The Feather brings its readers weekly FC campus announcements published the first day of each week. This week coverage is from Jan. 25 – Jan. 29, 2016.

As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.
Sports Events the Week of 1/25 – 1/29
Tuesday
HS varsity girls soccer at Fowler, 3:45 p.m. Dismissal 2 p.m.
HS varsity boys soccer at Fowler, 5:30 p.m. No early dismissal.
HS boys basketball at Fowler. JV at 5:30 p.m., varsity at 7:30 p.m.
HS varsity girls basketball at Fowler, 6 p.m.
Wednesday
JH baseball at Yosemite, 2:45 pm. Dismissal 1:30 p.m.
JH girls basketball vs Ft Miller at 3 p.m. Dismissal 2:10 p.m.
HS varsity girls soccer vs Parlier at 3:30 p.m. Dismissal 2:10 p.m.
Thursday
HS varsity boys soccer vs Minarets at 3:30 p.m.
Friday
HS varsity girls soccer vs Minarets at 3:30 p.m. Dismiss at 2:10.
HS boys basketball vs Minarets. JV at 4:30 p.m., varsity at 7:30 p.m.
HS varsity girls basketball vs Minarets at 6 p.m.

HS rally
HS leadership will be putting on a rally, Jan. 29. This rally will be acknowledging winter sport athletes. The theme is the different elements and each class will dress according to the element they received. Seniors: fire (red or orange) Juniors: wind (white or grey) Sophomores: water (blue) Freshman: earth (brown or green).
Drama spring musical
HS and JH drama will be performing their spring musical Hello Dolly! this April. Auditions will be held Jan. 25-26 in the SMC. Actors are required to either memorize a monologue or sing eight measures of a school appropriate song. Any questions can directed to Kyle Dodson or Susan Ainley.
T.E.A. Talks
A new group called TEA Talks has formed on campus and is lead by juniors Hannah Nale and Jennifer King. It is open to all HS girls and is meant to build friendships in Christ while encouraging others and learning about the Word.
The group will be meeting at the King’s house this Saturday, Jan. 30. The meeting will be 5-8:30 p.m. and will include dinner, games and desserts. If you have any questions or want to join the group, contact Nale or King for more information.
Juniors taking the SAT
Juniors who are planning to take the SAT, March 5, must register online through College Board by the Feb. 5 deadline. If you are interested in SAT/ACT prep courses, contact Michelle Warkentin.
Spring Formal
Fresno Christian’s Spring Formal, formally known as NOTS, will be held a Wolf Lakes, April 2, 2016. The theme this year will be set in the Roaring 20’s and tickets will be available starting Feb. 29, price TBA. More information will be available soon.
CSF
The spring semester CSF roster will be posted outside of the upstairs HS office by 12 p.m., Jan. 19. The first CSF meeting of the semester will be held during lunch in room 621, Jan. 28.
Seniors
Seniors who have applied to a local SCCCD community college must complete their online orientation as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Warkentin.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing period is open from Jan. 1 – Mar. 2. This is an application for free financial assistance for college and also the application for The Middle-Class Scholarship. For more information about how to apply contact Michelle Warkentin or visit https://fafsa.ed.gov/
Local Cash for College Workshops are also being held now where you can receive help completing the application http://www.csac.ca.gov/ccfc.asp.
ESL help for International Students
Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. for ESL support for our international students. Any questions can be directed to Hill.
Winter Festivus
Leadership is hosting a Winter Festivus at the Nale Barn located at 5840 N Biola Ave Friday, Feb. 19. It is from 5-10 p.m. and costs $20. There will be games, food, and a movie. For more information contact Robert Foshee or Vicky Belmont.
