Former professor of Boston University, Martin was the author of the book: Atheism: A Philosophical Justification and also an American philosopher who passed away in May, 2015.

In the mock heaven supreme court, Martin faces God and was tried against his believed. Other classmates serve as jurors in the process of deciding whether Martin should enter heaven or hell.
