Dear editor,
I disagree with the article Alejandra Ramirez wrote on Sept. 21, “”Mathematical expertise born, not made.””
Good teachers can be born, but they also can be made. You can take a teacher and teach him to teach. Some have a gift and are great teachers right off the bat. Others struggle, but become some of the best teachers you could ever have. I do agree though, that this school is one big family.
Teachers can always improve.
Some teachers will have a special gift that they are very good at communicating and they are considered great teachers. Others are taught to be more open and learn from their mistakes. But they don’t mean that they are any more than the teachers that were “”born”” teachers.
My point is that you don’t have to be born a good teacher to be considered a good teacher. . . .
