Prom is just around the corner and everyone is working on looking good. This week on Beauty Obsessed, I will be showing you an easy way to look tan before the big night.
One option is to get a spray tan but there is always that high risk of turning into a walking Dorito. No one wants to show up to prom orange! If you choose to get a spray tan make sure to test the company out before the event.
The option I will be showing you is a self tan. Of course there is still the risk of being orange but knowing what product to get and color lowers the risks.
Before applying any tanner to your body make sure to shave, exfoliate, and apply lotion to any dry areas. In the video I had shown you how to create an exfoliant.
The product consists of 1 cup of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. When making this make sure to stir the oil in completely. The oil will help moisturize your skin and make the tanner apply better.
After you have followed the short steps apply a small amount of lotion to elbows, knees, wrists, ankles, feet or any other dry spots. This helps the self tanner spread nicely and keep you from looking orange or too dark.
When it comes to buying the product it is easiest to buy a tanner that will show you where you have already applied the product. It also helps to buy an appropriate color.
A darker color will last long but you will need to apply weeks before so it has time to fade. A lighter color will last just as long but fade back to your normal color faster. I used the darkest color.
A good product is never a waste of money, especially for self tanner. Most times the cheaper items do not work as well as the higher priced ones. The product that I used is right in the middle and I love it.
After I self tan I usually wait to wash my body with soap or exfoliate for a day so the color has time to soak in.

Loved this how to! I was always wary of using self tanner but now I know how to make it look natural.
