The rain pitter pattered on the ground, the night was dark, I walked quickly to the Save Mart center. I kept my head down trying keep the rain out of my face. I walked into the amphitheater the place was crowded I had to move past several people to get to my seat. I finally found my seat and collapsed into my it thankful that I had finally gotten past the crowd.
The Tobymac Hits Deep tour includes many artist such as Hollyn, Colton Dixon, Capital Kings, Finding Favour, Building 429, Britt Nicole and Tobymac. These performers put on a diverse show, with music ranging from pop to rock and many other genres. The attendees of this concert were also surprisingly diverse, as both children and and elderly people attended this event.
Colton Dixon was one of the first performers of the night. His performance consisted of deeper, more emotional music. I watched with fascination as Colton Dixon played a variety of songs. Eventually he played one of my favorite of his songs, Limitless from his album Anchor. After this song he went off the stage.
Next was Capital Kings, whose music was fast paced and lively. The lights pulsated and shown brightly. I watched as the two man band moved in a frenzy between singing and managing their many props. Even though Capital kings had a short part in the concert they managed to provide a very entertaining and action filled section.
Finding Favour came up next, they played more moderate paced music. A great contrast to the fast music of Capital Kings. They played some of their best songs, including Cast my Cares and Say Amen. Finding Favour’s music had a depth to it so that you could feel the power behind the words of the song.
The pinnacle of the concert for me however was Tobymac. As his section of the show started, there was a large sheet draped draped across the stage and you could see the silhouette of a man waving a flag. I sat at the edge of my seat in breathless anticipation, until the sheet fell down as Tobymac came out singing Till the day I die. — Matthew Sue
Building 429 was up next with various songs ranging from rock to contemporary. As a big fan of this band I was very excited for this performance. However I was let down to an extent, when their concert lacked the rock I was craving. Their concert was good I just felt that it lacked in that area.
After Building 429 the stage went dark and then the next artist, Britt Nicole, took the stage. The stage lit up as she came out singing her hit song Gold. Her section of the concert was upbeat with fast paced songs and dancing. This section of the concert made you feel ready to dance and sing.

His portion of the concert was fast paced and exciting. After this first song he played songs from his new album This is not a Test.
Despite the whole concert being exiting the concert hit it’s climax for me when Tobymac played his song Love Feels Like, a song that originated with DC Talk (Tobymac was from DC Talk). This song was very interesting as two of the band members who sang this song were not present. Instead they were represented on the screen as they sang their parts, which were recorded. This led to a half live half recorded response, this I found very entertaining.

Another thing I liked about this section of the concert, was that Tobymac featured other people in his section of the concert. In his song, Lights Shine Bright, he had Hollyn sing as well. In another song, Undeniable, he had Colton Dixon sing and play his piano. This added diversity to the show and in my opinion enhanced it.
I would highly recommend going to this show, even if you only like one or two of the artists. I went mostly for Tobymac, but ended up thoroughly enjoying the entire concert. This concert would appeal especially to those who enjoy upbeat Christian music. I enjoyed this concert a lot and felt it was well worth the money and I would definitely go again.
