The Feather brings its readers weekly FC campus announcements published the first day of each week. This week coverage is from April 3- April 8, 2016.
Campus administration is looking for an elementary girls volleyball coach. If interested, contact Jon Penberthy or at the school, 559-299-1695, ext 108.
As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.
Sports Events the Week of 4/4 – 4/8
Monday
HS golf vs Yosemite HS at River Creek.
HS boys varsity baseball vs Laton HS on varsity diamond, 4 p.m. Dismiss 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday
Elementary spring sports pictures, 3 p.m. in PC gym.
HS track @ Firebaugh, 3:30 p.m. Dismiss at lunch.
Thursday
HS varsity boys tennis vs Dos Palos, 4 p.m.
HS varsity girls softball vs Riverdale, 4 p.m.
Friday
HS varsity boys baseball vs Riverdale, 4 p.m.
HS varsity track at Yosemite Mountain Invitational, 4 p.m.
Sports Fundraiser
Olive Garden Restaurant is donating a portion of its receipts to Fresno Christian Schools Athletics, April 12. Plan on a dinner out at The Olive Garden to enjoy good food and help support our teams. Click here for the Olive Garden Spirit Night event flyer.
T.E.A. Talks
A new group called TEA Talks has formed on campus and is lead by juniors Hannah Nale and Jennifer King. It is open to all HS girls and is meant to build friendships in Christ while encouraging others and learning about the Word. There will be a meeting at lunch in room 602, April 8.

Writing Club
The club provides a space at school for students to explore interests in creative writing. For more information, contact club leaders Emily Ladd, Skyler Lee, or Nicole Hudecek.
Break the Barriers
FC is looking for students to volunteer for Break the Barriers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteer work will count for hours toward CSF.
College Trip
The annual college trip has been scheduled for April 4-5. The trip will include visits to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Westmont and UC Santa Barbara.
Brother to Brother
Brother to Brother t-shirts are available to be purchased. They will cost $7 which can be given to Vicky Belmont in the high school office. Older brothers will have a training session at lunch, Tues. April 5.
Manliness Conference
Brother to Brother is sponsoring the Manliness Conference on April 8 from 7-9 p.m. and April 9 from 8:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. All teen boys, young men, and dads are invited. Reverend Chuck Stecker, President and Founder of A Chosen Generation, will be the guest speaker. The conference will be held in the People’s Church Gym. Admission is free.
Town Hall Meeting
Superintendent Jeremy Brown will be sharing information and answering questions regarding testing, enrollment, Common Core and future plans for FC. The meeting will be held in room 606/608 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., April 5.
Juniors
The next ACT test is on April 9, the registration deadline is March 4. You can still register for the test’s late registration with a fee at www.actstudent.org.
FC Sneak Peek
FC will be offering an open house along with school tours and meets and greets on the North Field near the FC Gym from 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., April 16. Spirit 88.9 will also be there with music, games an prizes.
Seniors
Seniors who have applied to a local SCCCD community college must complete their online orientation as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Warkentin.
Local Cash for College Workshops are also being held now where you can receive help completing the application http://www.csac.ca.gov/ccfc.asp.
Seniors-ELM/EPT test
Seniors who have applied to a CSU, don’t forget to sign up for your ELM/EPT test if you do not meet the minimum testing/class eligibility requirements. To sign up log in here. The April test at Fresno State is only available for Fresno Unified students, so if you have not yet signed up you will need to register for the May test or an upcoming April test at another CSU campus. When you are registering you will be asked for your State Student ID Number. This number is 0000000000 (10 zeros). If you have any questions feel free to contact Michelle Warkentin.
Drama performance of “Hello Dolly”
Kyle Dodson’s drama class is putting on the musical production of Hello Dolly!, May 15 and 16. Tickets and times will be announced soon.
ESL help for International Students
Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. for ESL support for our international students. Any questions can be directed to Hill.
Career Fair
The 5th Annual Career Fair is on Friday, April 15. Sign-ups for speaker sessions will be passed out on Monday April 11 in Advisory.
ASVAB
Students who took the ASVAB test March 31 will receive their results April 11. Contact Michelle Warkentin for your results.
ON Campus Lunch Menu
JH/HS Leadership will offer lunch throughout the year on Thursday and Friday.
