Fresno Christian Athletics is hosting a fundraiser at Olive Garden on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at 4 p.m. to closing time. Patrons of The Olive Garden are required to show the flyer via their phone or print it out, showing it to the waitress. A portion of the purchase will go back to Fresno Christian athletics.
If attending the fundraiser, use social media to promote it. Use #SpiritNight and tag @OliveGarden for the opportunity to win prizes from the Olive Garden. The fundraiser will be located on 389 Shaw Avenue, Clovis, CA 93612.
“Olive Garden wanted to offer us a chance to do a fundraiser that they offer to schools; it’s in partnership with MaxPreps“, Mick Fuller, athletic director, said. “They sent us a banner which is hanging in the gym and they give us a check to cover as an advertising sale. They do a dinner night in the fall and a dinner night in the spring where a portion of the proceeds of that night goes to Fresno Christian athletics.”
Fuller says he hopes Fresno Christian Athletics will benefit from this fundraiser even thought it is just a one day event. The fundraiser is also to raise community awareness.
“It does raise the profile of the school because the restaurant has a board in the entryway that indicates ‘this is a spirit night for Fresno Christian Schools‘ and all patrons who walk into the restaurant know the evening is dedicated to raising money for our school,” Fuller said.” They do a number of schools. So there is information there about how the proceeds go to Fresno Christian athletics and people get to see we have a reliable athletic program.”
In the past, Fresno Christian has been a part of Olive Garden’s school fundraising events. According to thefeather.com, in March of 2013, the Olive Garden hosted an essay contest where “Students must write 50 to 250 words on the following prompt: How would you help end hunger in your hometown? An official entry form must be completed and sent with the essay.”
People interested in supporting the FCS Athletics Department are required to display their flyers for admittance into the event.
