This week for Beauty Obsessed, I will be showing you my foundation routine. The most important step of any makeup look is the base; just like in any painting if the base is not solid the piece will not be either.
When looking for a perfect foundation make sure to buy the right color with the right tones. If the veins on the inside of your wrist are purple/blue the undertone is cool, if they are blue/green the undertone is neutral and if the veins are green/olive the undertone is warm.
Foundation bottles usually will have what undertone the color works best with but if not here is a tip to find the perfect shade. Color swatch the color! The best spot to swatch is on the neck, the color is closest to that spot and will make the application much easier.
There are multiple types of products one could choose from, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming but you just need to try some out to see what works best for your skin. Foundations can be matte or dewy; sheer, light, medium or full coverage; cream, liquid, whipped, powder, stick, mineral or waterproof types.
If you are a viewer of older age, it is best to use a lighter foundation because when people age. Pores get bigger and fine lines appear and wearing a heavy foundation will make everything more defined.
Even though everyone should buy the right color foundation it is extremely important to do so for older skin as well.

good tips! I agree, if you don’t have a great base the finished result will be less than perfect.

I didn’t know how to match the undertone of my foundation to the color of my veins! Definitely going to use this tip the next time I buy foundation. Love your videos!
