The Feather brings its readers weekly FC campus announcements published the first day of each week. This week coverage is from May 9 – May 13, 2016.

As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.
Sports Events the Week of 5/9 – 5/13
Monday
JH girls softball vs Tehipite at 2:45 p.m. Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.
JH tennis at Tenaya, 3 p.m. Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.
HS varsity boys golf in North Area Tournament at Pheasant Run GC.
HS varsity girls softball vs Fowler at 4 p.m. Dismissal at 2:30 p.m. Senior recognition at 3:50 p.m.
Tuesday
HS varsity boys baseball vs Fowler at 4 p.m. Dismissal at 2:30 p.m. Senior Recognition at 3:50 p.m.
HS varsity boys tennis in CIF playoffs at Sierra Pacific HS in Hanford, 4 p.m. Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.
Wednesday
JH tennis vs Computech at 3 p.m. Dismissal at 2:10 p.m.
HS varsity track senior recognition at 12:45 p.m. in PC gym. Also, select athletes at CIF Division 2 track meet in Kingsburg at 2 p.m.
HS varsity boys baseball vs Caruthers (makeup game due to rainout) at 3:30 p.m. Dismissal at 2:10 p.m.
Thursday
JH track at Sunnyside, 2:45 p.m. Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.
HS varsity girls softball at Minarets, 4 p.m. No early dismissal.
Possible HS varsity boys tennis game. Time and location TBD.
Friday
HS varsity boys baseball at Minarets, 4 p.m. Dismissal at 2 p.m.
HS varsity boys tennis in individuals tournament at Buchanan HS. Select athletes only.
T.E.A. Talks
A new group called TEA Talks has formed on campus and is lead by juniors Hannah Nale and Jennifer King. It is open to all HS girls and is meant to build friendships in Christ while encouraging others and learning about the Word.
Writing Club
The club provides a space at school for students to explore interests in creative writing. For more information, contact club leaders Emily Ladd, Skyler Lee, or Nicole Hudecek.
Break the Barriers
FC is looking for students to volunteer for Break the Barriers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteer work will count for hours toward CSF.

Zoology Field Trip
Zoology students will be taking a trip to Project Survival’s Cat Haven, May 11.
Brother to Brother
Brother to Brother t-shirts are available to be purchased. They will cost $7 which can be given to Vicky Belmont in the high school office. There will be a training session for older brothers, May 3.
Sister to Sister
Sister to Sister members will have their end of the year luncheon, May 1o. The luncheon will be in rooms 626-628. Lunch will be provided.
Justin Houts
Congratulations to Senior Justin Houts on being awarded a scholarship for college by the San Joaquin Valley Officials Association.
Justin will be joining other scholarship recipients in an hour long interview with ESPN Radio 1430 from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Fashion Furniture on El Paso Avenue across from Riverpark, May 12.
Feather Staff to City Hall
The Feather staff has been invited to City Hall to be honored for winning awards earlier this year, May 12.
Spring Concert
FC choir and ensemble will have one last performance for the year at their spring concert, May 13. The concert will be in the GL Johnson chapel.
Spring Formal Pictures
Spring formal pictures can be picked up in the high school office starting Tue. April 26.
AP Tests
AP tests will be held the first and second weeks of May. Students should plan to arrive 15 minutes early. For test dates and times, contact Michelle Warkentine.
Football Meeting
There will be a football meeting for parents interested in the program at 5:30 p.m., May 9. The meeting will be held in rooms 621-623.
Summer Programs Hosted at College Campuses
Now is the time to register for summer programs hosted at college campuses around the nation. Attending a summer program can be an amazing experience and add value to your college application. If you are a 10th or 11th grader and are interested in attending a program please contact Michelle Warkentin. Experiences range from ecology and engineering programs all the way to art and fashion programs.
Drama performance of “Hello Dolly”
Kyle Dodson’s drama class is putting on the musical production of Hello Dolly!, May 17. Tickets and times will be announced soon.
Juniors
The next SAT test is on June 4, the registration deadline is May 5. If the deadline is missed you can still register for the test’s late registration with a fee at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat
The next ACT test is on June 11, the registration deadline is May 6. You can register online at www.actstudent.org a
Senior Trip
Seniors will take their senior trip to the Los Angeles area, May 18-20.
Senior Exit Interviews
Seniors will be presenting their exit interviews, May 13. The presentations will be during 2nd and 6th period in the JJ room. Seniors dress appropriately and do not forget your portfolio.
Seniors-ELM/EPT test
Seniors who have applied to a CSU, don’t forget to sign up for your ELM/EPT test if you do not meet the minimum testing/class eligibility requirements. To sign up log in here. The April test at Fresno State is only available for Fresno Unified students, so if you have not yet signed up you will need to register for the May test or an upcoming April test at another CSU campus. When you are registering you will be asked for your State Student ID Number. This number is 0000000000 (10 zeros). If you have any questions feel free to contact Michelle Warkentin.
ESL help for International Students
Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. for ESL support for our international students. Any questions can be directed to Hill.
ON Campus Lunch Menu
JH/HS Leadership will offer lunch throughout the year on Thursday and Friday.
