The Grudge, currently playing in theatres nationwide, is a remake of the recent Japanese horror film, Ju-On. In the movie, Karen Davis (Sarah Michelle Gellar), discovers a home in which a family has been murdered.
As the mystery unravels, she discovers that the curse of the murder follows her and places her in life-threatening situations.
“I didn’t like The Grudge,” Nic Westburg, ’05, said. “I thought it was corny and not well written. I repeatedly said throughout the movie that I wasted $9.”
The basic formula for most horror films is really quite simple. Casting a hot young actor is a definite must. Scary images and booming music are incorporated to make the audience jump.
