Frowns turn into excited faces. Smiles appear on small children’s faces as unexpected presents make their way into their hands. Children, who lost something or someone, regain newfound happiness this season.
The campus California Scholarship Federation [CSF] members will be donating letters and a variety of presents to under privileged children in Fresno this Dec. 6.
“We are bringing gifts to children at Craycroft,” Ellen King, CSF adviser, said. “The joy of the children’s faces is a great feeling.”
CSF members hope to help under-privileged children have a happy holiday season.
“I hope our visit and gifts will impact the children at Craycroft,” Christa Williams, ’05, said. “Many of them have received little or no positive attention in their past, so this is a great way to show them that they are important.”
The members of CSF are trying to help the community by setting an example for the students at this campus.
“To care for other children, not just those on our campus, helps us in our quest to give gratitude,” King said. “I think more students should help during this holiday season.”
Non-CSF members also find the act of giving an important part of the holiday season
“I think the CSF team is doing a great thing for the kids,” Jared Kneefel, ’07, said. “Helping kids celebrate a joyful holiday is something more people should participate in.”
Students will be notified through the announcements to sign up for a child to sponsor in King’s room during lunch soon.
