Grandparents Day is a time for grandparents to feel like students again. They will participate with their grandchildren in and around the classroom, Sept. 30, 9:30 a.m-12:30 p.m.
The grandparents will have time to check in between buildings five and six before 9:30 a.m., where they will be getting a schedule, then heading off to their grandchildren’s classes. The FCS worship team will host the grandparents in a special chapel for them as well.
Drummer and pianist Nate Mount, ‘18, is excited that his grandparents will be able to come to this event.
“Grandparents Day is a time for me to see my grandparents who I don’t always get to hang out with,” Mount said. “It will be cool to have them in my classes, and see what my everyday school life is like.”
Ashley Zamarripa, ‘19, is sad that she won’t be attending grandparents day due to her vacation to Colorado.
“Since I’m going to Colorado I won’t be able to see my grandparents,” Zamarripa said. “It’s sad because I don’t always get to be able to spend time with my grandparents, and I would have liked to be with them on Grandparents Day.”
Students will guide their grandparents to each of their classrooms while having the option of eating some pastries or drinking coffee which are available in the hallways. Attendees will be be served lunch consisting of a turkey sandwich, chips, cookie, plus a fruit cup provided by Moving Feast.
