This article is the third and last in a series about clubs around the campus; this article will cover T.E.A. Talks and Board Game Club. Read the first and second articles in the series: Part one: FC clubs involve student body. Part two: FC clubs involve student body.
Campus clubs are a way for students that have similar interests to get involved and to be a part of an organization. There are seven clubs on campus, they are Brother to Brother, Sister to Sister, International Club, Debate Club, California Scholarship Federation (CSF), T.E.A Talks and Game Club. Each provides students with the opportunity to get to know each other better.
T.E.A. Talks
Teaching, Encouraging and Accepting, T.E.A. Talks gives high school girls an opportunity to grow closer with each other as well as their personal relationships with the Lord. The club meets on and off campus and the goal is to unite as sisters in Christ.
Hannah Nale, ’17, enjoys being able to bond with all the girls while growing in her Creator. Nale looks forward to her second year in the club, and being able to run it with fellow classmate and friend Jennifer King, ‘17.
“We strive to build community with all Fresno Christian high school girls, we do this by having girls nights out, morning coffee runs, sleepovers and lunchtime meetings,” Nale said. “This year they will be focusing on the theme, where are you aiming, by reading through the chapter Romans 12. Some ways that they encourage the girls are through group text and their Instagram accounts.”
First time member of T.E.A. Talks Kayden Marquez, ‘20, joined the club because she wanted to get closer to the high school girls.
“To be honest with you, I joined T.E.A. Talks because I didn’t want to be alone at lunch,” Marquez said. “I am very glad that I did join though, because there are many opportunities to get to know the high school girls better, and to grow my relationship with the Lord. This is my first year in the club and I’m very excited for what is to come.”

Board Game Club
Ranging from games like King of Tokyo to Splendor, Board Game Club meets after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and gives students opportunities to fellowship with one another while playing their favorite games.
Teacher and Board Game Club advisor Kyle Dodson enjoyed strategy games when he was younger. Dodson has been the advisor of the club for two years, and started it because he felt that some people would benefit from it.
“When I was younger I really enjoyed strategy board games,” Dodson said. “My passion for board games has stuck with me and that is one of the reasons I wanted to have the club. I felt that there was an opportunity to have fun and that there would be some people that could benefit from the club. This is my second year being the advisor of board game club.”
Taking his second year of Board Game Club, Matthew Oliver, ’18, enjoys playing strategy board games. Oliver’s favorite game that is played in the club is Splendor.
“Last year I joined board game club for the first time, and I came back this year, because it was so much fun,” Oliver said. “I really enjoy games that have to do with strategy, which is why Splendor is one of my favorites. I decided to try the club last year since the amount of after school clubs gave me little options to choose from.”
Students who are interested in joining Debate and International clubs, talk to one of the advisors or go to the high school office for more information.
