Padme Amadala stares passionately into Anakin Skywalker?s eyes as she takes his robotic hand. The two share a kiss and gaze into the sunset. Then the screen goes black and the credits roll.
The last scene of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, ends romantically despite the turmoil surrounding them.
While Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith opened at midnight on May 19, student leadership will lead the student body to Edwards Theater to ?join the force? on May 20. The viewing of the movie is a reward from the administration for all their hard work.
?I think it?s important for the students to have a reward day,? Jon Endicott, vice principal, said. ?It?s important to reward them for all the work they have done throughout the year.?
The students will arrive at the theater at 8:30 A.M. to watch the movie at 9 A.M. After the movie students will eat at In-N-Out for lunch and arrive back at school at 12:15 P.M.
Many students are looking forward to seeing the final movie of the series.
?I can?t wait to see the movie,? Karen Reed, ?07, said. ?The last movie was a cliff-hanger and I can?t wait to see what happens next.?
With all the stress of finals, the students were given a reprieve for the morning.
?We usually like to do something for the rest of the school when the seniors are gone on their trip,? Tara Albrechtson, ?06, said. ?In previous years the high school had gone to six flags, but this year we thought seeing Star Wars Episode III would be an awesome way to relax in the middle of finals.?
Making an event like this work can be stressful but Edwards Theater made the job easier for student leadership.
?Edwards Theater was very nice about it and completely willing to rent us a whole theater to have to ourselves,? Albrechtson, said. ?This was actually surprising considering Star Wars III is a huge movie.
As the seniors will be on their senior trip they will not be attending this special event, but one senior decided that nothing would stop her from enjoying Star Wars Episode III.
?I?ve been a Star Wars fan since I was little,? Elise Ayedelotte, ?05, said. ?I look forward to seeing this movie, because I think it will explain a lot of the questions that weren?t answered in the other movies. Me and my dad are going to see the midnight showing so that will be fun.?
For more information talk to a student leadership member. Tickets can be purchased at lunch at the Star Wars booth; the last day to buy tickets for the special campus showing is May 19.
