The Eagles will look to close up the football season with their final home game, senior night, against Stone Ridge Christian, Oct. 28. Eleven seniors will be recognized for their efforts at 6:45 p.m. on the FC field before the game.

At this point in the season, the Eagles are 7-1 overall. Their play has awarded them the No. 1 ranked 8-man team in the state. However, the senior night game will be played as an 11-man game; this is the first home 11-man game since 2011.

Seven out of 11 players have been playing on varsity since freshman year. As a four-year member of the varsity team, Julian Castro, ‘17, enjoys leading teammates.

“I have been playing football for nine years including this year,” Castro said. “I have had a lot of good and bad experiences in the years that I have been playing. One of the good experiences was my very first touchdown when I was sophomore. One bad thing that really tested me mentally and physically was when I broke my ankle as a junior. I was glad to know that God was by my side and that my faith was not weakened by this terrible injury.”

“My favorite part about football is all the relationships you can make while being a participant,” Friesen said. “The brotherhood that is formed and the memories that you make can never be forgotten. Ever since I joined the team, I have looked forward to playing football every year and I’m very sad that this might be my last home game in a Fresno Christian football jersey.”

Students on the campus are excited to watch the seniors play one last time. Annabelle Messer, ‘20, plans to attend the game.

“I will be attending the senior night football game,” Messer said. “I am excited about the Eagles playing on home field one last time, hanging with my friends and having the seniors be announced and recognized.”

While most students are going to the last home game, members of the women’s ensemble while not be attending the game. Celeste Counts, ’18, will be at the Westmont festival.

“I won’t be attending this friday because I am going to be at the Westmont festival with the women’s ensemble,” Counts said. “I’m very bummed to miss the senior’s last home game.”

Come out and support your Eagles!
