Dear Editor:
Even a little spare change can add up to a considerable amount to benefit a worthy cause. The April 20 online article, “Pennies for patients benefit ill children,” was a real “eye-opener” considering how little it takes from each person to make a difference in the big picture.
I really liked how the writer, Christa Williams, listed how much money we potentially spend from the lunch truck each day. Even though we need to eat, we can see how just cutting back on one little extra thing can help save lives.
I found it very interesting to see the facts about the survival rate for leukemia. Maybe we can do this project again next year and continue to help raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Thanks for the information.
