Juniors Mariana Fikse and Catherine Vander Kooi, craft together a marine animal poster in Dr. Karen Walter’s 5th period zoology class, Oct. 26. Currently the students are studying different species of mollusks and their way of life.
Vander Kooi enjoys zoology because it gives her the opportunity to learn more about marine animals. She looks forward to upcoming projects and assignments in the class.
“I expect to learn about different types of marine animals at the aquarium and investigate in the tide pools,” Vander Kooi said. “We worked on posters that showed the different classes of mollusks in the ocean.”
Zoology along with AP biology will be taking a day trip to the Monetery Bay Aquarium to learn more about sea life, Nov. 9. Walters hopes the experience there will help spark interest in the study of animals.
