Land speed record holder, Cayla Rivas prepares for her upcoming race in El Mirage desert, Nov. 9.  

Rivas has been land speed racing since the age of 12. Overall she has set 10 world records. This year the fastest speed her bike has reached was 139.6 mph. The motorcycle she rides is a 500 cc Buell Blast, in the class 500 MPS-PF (modified partial streamlining – pushrod fuel).

From a young age Rivas has always had a passion for racing. 

“Racing is something I love very much. When I get on my bike I feel unstoppable.” Rivas said. “My goal for this upcoming race is to go 140 mph and set my 11th land speed record.”

The last race of this season will be at El Mirage, Nov. 12-13.
