[/media-credit] Supermoon, the largest moon since 1948 was 14% larger than the average moon and will not appear again until 2034.

The largest moon since 1948, also known as the supermoon appeared at 5:50 a.m., Nov. 14. 

A supermoon occurs when the moon becomes full during the point in it’s orbit when it is closest to the earth. A moon this large will not appear until 2034. 

Supermoons like the one that appeared this morning are very rare. According to NASA, it was 14% closer to the earth and shone 30% more moonlight on the earth.
