A chance to serve
[/media-credit] CSF tutors work with their students schedule and meet whenever they are available, Feb. 24.

As a tutor, students involved in CSF have the opportunity to help their fellow classmates and other students on campus, Feb. 24.

All CSF members must meet a required six to ten service hours every semester. Hours are earned by attending CSF meetings and doing community service. They can also be earned by becoming a tutor. Tutoring is available for all grades.

For the members that tutor, they not only receive service hours but also receive an amount of money depending on how many times they tutor within a week. Tutoring for one day is free for the student being tutored, but more than once a week requires a $10 payment.

Junior, Joey Huang, is tutoring for her first year and enjoys the chance she has to help younger students.

“I tutor a fourth and fifth grader. I really like tutoring because it offers me a chance to interact with different people,” Huang said. “I would definitely recommend CSF members to do tutoring just because it’s a great experience and it’s also a fun way to give back to the community.”

To tutor is a way to serve our campus’ community relating back to the theme of National Scholastic Journalism Week: “The Communities We Cover”.

CSF members who are willing to tutor are always needed. If you are interested in tutoring or being tutored contact club adviser Andrea Donaghe.
