[/media-credit] As trees turn shades of brown and red and leaves begin to drop, the first day of fall arrives, Sept. 22.

As leaves begin to turn colors and temperatures slowly change, the first day of fall is upon us, Sept. 22.

The first official day of fall Sept. 22 due to the arrival of the autumnal equinox. Precisely on the 21st, 22nd or 23rd of Sept., the sun lines up directly upon the equator. Amount of sunlight in the days will slowly decrease and length of days shorten during the season of fall. 

Senior Jacob Provost shares what his favorite aspects and events of fall are,

“I love fall because of college football,” Provost said. “I love that the weather gets cooler and that we get closer and closer to the basketball season.”

According to The Weather Channel, Fresno area temperatures often range from mid-seventies to mid-nineties in the upcoming week. Though autumn is upon us, Fresno temperatures may stay warm through mid-October.
