Biology students learn about cell structures and the different parts of the cell.
Previously during this unit they have been learning the different organisms that live in the cell, such as the nucleus, and about how cells are structured.
Recently they have been focusing on cell structures. Students turned in a lab report on egg osmosis on Monday. This lab involved putting eggs in different liquids and watching how the egg responded. The egg acted as a model cell.
This week the students have been looking at cells through microscopes. On Tuesday, they examined leaves of the elodea plant under the microscopes and sketched them. On Thursday, they studied photosynthesis, using an online stimulator that tested plants growing in different lights.
Junior Ashley Winchell talks about her favorite thing to do in biology.
“My favorite thing we do in biology are labs, “Winchell said, ” I like that we get to learn more about the cells and look closer at them.”
