Fresno Christian will be hosting their second and last California State University (CSU) application workshop for seniors, Nov. 14. The workshop will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12 p.m., room 508 in building 5. The CSU early application deadline is Nov. 30.
Admission representatives are providing technology for students to use in the application process. The representatives will help guide and answer questions that students may have during the application process.
Fresno State ambassador, Alejandra Rodriguez, believes that the purpose of these workshops is to encourage students to apply to a CSU and even apply to Fresno State.
“It is to encourage students to apply to Fresno State and other CSU campuses,” Rodriguez said. “Workshops are beneficial because students receive more of a one on one help in the application process. Our goal is to help students gain admission to their CSU of choice. Go Dogs!”
Fresno Christian’s academic counselor, Evangelina Tello, wants to encourage the students to take advantage of the opportunities being provided for them.
“With this being my first event to host as the new academic counselor, I would encourage students to take advantage of the opportunities this workshop has to offer,” Tello said. “Admission representatives are present during this event to offer guidance and insight into the application process. It’s important that our students have a place to come to receive answers to their questions and any additional support they may need.”
Seniors were informed about the event in homeroom last week and in their civics classes. Students are to bring their transcripts, recent test scores on the SAT and the ACT, their Social Security number, citizenships status, a payment method, their parent’s citizenship status, an annual income, and their parent’s employment background, plus two recommendations.
