One Enchanted Evening 2017
[/media-credit] Old Town Clovis streets fill with thousands of people and families as they attend the annual One Enchanted Evening event, Nov. 16.

Thousands of people and families visit Old Town Clovis for One Enchanted Evening to enjoy the old-fashioned holiday festivities, Nov. 16. Visitors of all ages enjoy the Christmas activities from 5-8 p.m.

One Enchanted Evening is Old Town’s most anticipated event, with the horse-drawn carriages, carolers and the Christmas decorations filling the area. Old Town merchants fill their shop’s windows with holiday cheer, decorating with strings of twinkling lights and decked-out trees. Throughout the air, the smell of hot chocolate and peppermint lingers.

David Jones and wife Barbara Dotta are the owners of one set of horses used for the horse-drawn carriages. They have spent two weeks preparing for the popular event.

Jones shares why he is involved with One Enchanted Evening horse-drawn carriage rides and why he enjoys the event.

“My wife has horses that she loves and I love her so that’s why I’m involved with it,” Jones said. “We like the horses and the people. Most of the people that come and ride are very interested in the horses. It’s kind of an educational thing for people who aren’t involved with horses. I like One Enchanted Evening cause it brings everybody together when it’s just about time for Thanksgiving and Christmas and it puts you in the mood for the holidays.”

Vintage cars line the streets as families travel to and from attractions. Some of the activities include horse-drawn carriages, hot chocolate made by ‘Santa’s Elves’ and carolers’ Christmas songs.
