The FC varsity girls soccer team defeats Wonderful College Prep. Academy, 9-1, continuing their 4 game winning streak, Dec. 12.
Sophomore Bekah Micu leads the team with 4 out of 9 goals. Freshman and first year soccer player, Lillian Fuller scores her first goal in the second half of the game with less than 10 minutes on the clock.
“I was extremely excited when I scored,” Fuller said. “I wanted to score a goal really bad, so I was pretty motivated to get at least one ball in the net. Going into the game I was a little nervous but with the help of my team mates, I was able to accomplish what I set out to do.”
Under the coaching of Matt Markarian, the girls surpassed last years record of 8 losses and 3 wins. Markarian took time to make sure the players perfected basic techniques and drills before moving on to more advanced skills.
The team will play WCPA at the Garces tournament, Dec. 15 at 3 p.m.
