As the new year begins, color guard gets ready for the upcoming winter guard season.
In preparation for the season, the team is scheduled to be evaluated this Saturday by Frente, a color guard club centered in the San Joaquin Valley. Members of Frente are able to compete in state and national competitions, in addition to organizing summer camps for extra training.
Sophomore Shauna Howard comments on Frente Evaluations. Howard has participated in color guard since the seventh grade.
“Frente Evaluations is an opportunity for us to perform our Winter Guard show before season,” Howard said. “It’s helpful to receive feedback and constructive criticism before competition season officially starts.”
Evaluations are scheduled to be at Clovis West, in the afternoon. The winter guard season begins on January 27, at Clovis East.
