In fifth grade (my first year of attending a ìrealî school) I learned that just about any excuse to get out of class was worthwhile and that group projects generally consisted of me doing all the work and everyone else getting the credit for it.
Who came up with the brilliant idea of group projects anyways?
Now that Iím finally a senior, one would think that the rest of my classmates would have finally learned some measure of responsibility when it comes to group projects. However, it would appear that no one informed them that responsibility should come with maturity.
Then again, as a whole, we arenít really a mature class anyways.
And there, in that one kernel of truth, is the entire reason why I like my class. Other than the three or four diehard school spirit advocators who still havenít discovered the true extend of our apathy, our class just doesnít go for the whole dress up, cheer for us, win anything idea.
What other senior class hasnít won first place in homecoming floats or Best Picture at Night of the Stars? How many pep rallies have we won? One, not that anyoneís counting, much less cares.
We wonít talk about how many rallies and events the juniors have won
