Don and Hallie Rojeski are amongst one of the only faculty married couples on campus.
The Rojeskis first met in Lincoln, Nebraska through mutual friends during their Easter vacation. Shortly after meeting, they began a long distance relationship. In order to see each other, they would travel 500 miles.
They kept their relationship invigorated with frequent phone calls and letters. After 9 months, Don eventually asked Hallie’s father, Richard Roscoe, for his permission to marry his daughter. They have now been married for 45 years.
“He never technically purposed to me, he never got down on one knee and said will you marry me,” Hallie said. “We just kind of knew we were getting married.”
After graduating college in Nebraska, Hallie began teaching and Don went to Mennonite Brethren seminary school in Fresno, California.
“We love being on the same campus together,” Hallie said. “It’s wonderful that he’s teaching again, this is where he belongs.”
