Fresno Christian makes an appearance in the 35th annual Clovis West Showcase as 56 cheerleaders compete in the competition, Feb. 10. Directed by head coach Hope Villines, elementary, junior high and high school each take home a superior rating.
After a nine year hiatus, the elementary team, led by assistant coach Brooklyn Barth, wins first place in the Elementary Show Cheer non-tryout division. Also known as a super squad, the team is complete with 22 5th and 6th graders.
In their second year of competing, JH, also led by Barth, takes home a superior rating in the Intermediate Show Cheer Large division.
After competing for three years, the HS varsity cheer team, coached by Villines and assistant coaches Rayna Endicott and Courtney Raymundo, takes home superior and a first place trophy in the Varsity Show cheer medium division.
The varsity cheer team will compete again in the CIF Central Section Dance & Cheer Championships, March 10.
