Nearly 100,000 music fanatics are expected to congregate at Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California, for an annual unprecedented event. The Coachella Valley Music Festival is back for an April 29-30 run.
Since 1999, this festival has been assembling the day?s most predominant bands. First drawing mild crowds of 10 – 20,000 and steadily improving until 2004, which raked in crowds of over 100,000 with The Pixies and Radiohead headlining the event.
Coachella Camp grounds in the Indio Valley will host thousands of music lovers in pre-booked sites so they can walk to the event. While it is a five and a half hour trip from Fresno, the car ride is just a part of the festivities.
?I?m most excited for the Yeah Yeah Yeah?s,? Kelsey Boogusch, ?06, said. ?I?ve spoken with people who have seen past shows and the way they describe it has me all wound up.?
The shadeless fields of the event are despicable, pre-ordained to leave skin scorched and crimson the reputation of this event will bring together thousands none-the-less.
Look for a review of this event after its aftermath will continue to linger in the minds of those who made the trek to the Southlands.
