FC freshman Jacob Hyatt competes at the Sierra-Sequoia Championships, May 9.
Hyatt enters into the competition in the high jump with the top ten seed with a personal record of six-foot-even. He hopes to place in the top three along with setting a new personal and school record. He is asked about his season so far leading up to his last meet.
“My year has been pretty good. I’ve accomplished the goal of jumping six feet in high jump,” Hyatt excitedly explained. “I have also earned the title of League Champion in the high jump and long jump. I enjoy track and field because it is an individual sport. It requires athletic ability and fitness, but also strength of the mind.”
Hyatt has placed first in the high jump in seven out of ten league season meets this year.
Hyatt placed third in the high jump for the Sierra-Sequoia Championship at Exeter Monarch Stadium, Exeter High School. He jumped six feet, tying his personal record. Make sure to congratulate him on his great season!
