Fresno Christian’s senior homecoming court nominees choose a Disney movie to market during FC homecoming, Oct. 5. Candidates Alex Rurik and Julia Fikse both share a love for Star Wars movies.
This week’s chosen movies include, ‘Star Wars‘, ‘Lilo and Stitch‘, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame‘, ‘Hercules‘, and ‘Tangled‘. FC leadership voted on the Disney theme called ‘Homecoming Happily Ever After‘.
The theme will be carried out as classes work on floats from various Disney movies. Floats will be showcased and open for voting at the 34th annual FC homecoming, Oct. 5.
Homecoming nominees, Rurik and Fikse take part in ‘Homecoming Happily Ever After’ by dressing up as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Rurik expresses his excitment for the week and why they choose Star Wars for their theme.
“Julia and I thought of Star Wars because it’s simple and easily recognizable” says Rurik, “Everyone loves the movies and they are an iconic piece to the Disney franchise. Plus we are both fans.”
As the Star Wars galaxy continues to expand, fans will have the opportunity to experience Star Wars – themed lands at Disneyland called Galaxy’s Edge. Guests will be transported to different planets, where Star Wars characters come to life to share their stories. One of the signature attractions will let guests take control of the Millennium Falcon! Set to open in Disneyland Summer 2019. Check out Disney Parks Blog for more information.
